Volunteer Spotlight
Christina Evans & ‘Skye’
Volunteer of the Week
In August 2009, a four-legged team from the American Humane Association’s Denver Pet Partners, began volunteering as a part of Morning Star Adult Day Program’s animal-assisted therapy program. Christina Evans, a licensed psychologist, and Skye, a female English Labrador, visit the Morning Star participants monthly, which allows opportunities for reminiscing, sensory stimulation, positive socialization and laughter.
Morning Star’s enthusiastic pet lovers greatly anticipate these fun and therapeutic visits, and we are so grateful to have such a dynamic animal-assisted therapy team. Thank you Christina and Skye!
