Snow Busters is a program operated by the City of Aurora to assist Aurora’s elderly and people with disabilities with snow shoveling.

To be eligible to receive free assistance, the individual must be:

  • a resident of Aurora;
  • over 60 years of age or a person with disabilities;
  • have limited financial resources; and
  • be unable to shovel their sidewalk.

Community volunteers are Snow Busters. A Snow Buster:

  • is matched with a resident in or close to their neighborhood;
  • shovels the public sidewalk of the resident within 24 hours of a snowfall of 2 inches or more; and
  • assists the resident for one snow season beginning in the fall and ending in the spring.

If you would like to volunteer as a Snow Buster please read a description of volunteer responsibilities. If you are willing to accept the responsibilities you may register now or call 303-739-7000 for more information.
